On June 14, 2022, the adaptive optics bench “PAPYRUS” (Provence Adaptive-optics PYramid RUn System) of ONERA and LAM (CNRS/AMU/CNES), installed at the Haute-Provence Observatory (OHP) captured its first light. PAPYRUS is able to correct the atmospheric turbulence in real time thanks to an innovative technological concept combining high sensitivity and flexibility. This technological breakthrough will equip the future giant telescopes in order to allow sky observations at very high resolution.
First Light Imaging is proud to be part of the PAPYRUS adventure with (LAM) Laboratoire d’Astrophysique de Marseille, DOTA/ONERA – The French Aerospace Lab, and ALPAO !
